Privacy Policy

Senescence  ·  Inefficient Code  ·  Last updated: April 2026

Senescence is a sound-based experience app built by Inefficient Code, available on iOS and Android. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Local Game progress & preferences

Your play history, soundscape preferences, and app state (e.g. whether you have seen the intro) are stored locally on your device only using the device's standard local storage. This data never leaves your device and is removed when the app is uninstalled.

Analytics Anonymous usage data (Firebase Analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated data about how the app is used. This includes:

No personally identifiable information (name, email, location, or device ID) is collected. Data is used solely to understand feature usage and improve the app. You can review Google's data practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

2. In-App Purchases

IAP Optional support tips (consumable purchases)

Senescence offers optional one-time tip purchases to support development. These are processed entirely by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) — we do not handle or store any payment or billing information directly.

We use RevenueCat to manage purchase verification and entitlements. RevenueCat may receive anonymised purchase event data (e.g. that a purchase occurred) but does not receive your payment details. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

All purchases are governed by the terms and privacy policy of the platform through which they are made (Apple or Google).

3. What We Do NOT Collect

4. Children's Privacy

Senescence does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app contains no ads and no social or communication features.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Local app data can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app. Anonymous Firebase Analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months per their standard policy. We have no way to identify or delete individual anonymous records. RevenueCat purchase records are subject to their own retention policy.

6. Platform-Specific Notes

iOS — The app is distributed via the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain diagnostic and usage data as described in Apple's privacy policy. App Tracking Transparency (ATT) is not triggered as the app does not use advertising identifiers.

Android — The app is distributed via Google Play. Google may collect certain device and usage data as described in Google's privacy policy. The app requests only the INTERNET permission, required for analytics and purchase verification.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
